What can you say about Rome that hasn‘t already been said?
It‘s beautiful, over-crowded, romantic, dirty, exciting, picturesque, colorful, graffiti-covered, noisy, ancient and modern, crude and refined, polished and raw—intensely intense. A first-time visitor, as I was in 2006, is nearly overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of stimulation—visual, aural, historical, cultural, gustatorial… The list goes on.
